So been a long time faff but got it done yesterday and today worked more on the combustion air setting to get a slower, not such a shot burn as its way to warm.
Workshop is around 75sqm. and as said it gets to warm so doors and window open at times. Full full throttle the heat exchanger gets to max 245 Deg C, flue 85 Deg C at the bottom and 60 Deg C at the top. Deg C
I was going to go with just round holes here but then i decided to cut them oval for more air. but didnt need it. ill make tem some covers for them soon as i was using masking tape to adjust the air lol.
i wanted to getg a round to[ g;lass bt at £25 sod that so went square for £70 and filled the side as i had a round hole in the plate.
Burning well after 15 mins.
I made a second combustion feed in the side but forgot to take pics. just use a 38mm ID tube and flanged it foe easy removal of the steel ( yes i used 5mm wall tube and ill see how it goes ) reckon it will last a winter of weekends.
For te flue i made a box to join to the flue i made. has an opening to clean it when needs be.
fire box all lined with 25mm Vermiculite
Happy with it anyway.
Got 7hrs good heat, to much at first and near smoke free. smokes on start up and end burn but when going its fine. I used one and a half pallets in 7hrs. Thats was on fully opened inlets for most the time.
I mite see how it melts lead when i find a crucible to fit the pot i made for it in place of the viewing glass. .
