So once completed the finish was absolutely flawless i.e no swirls, burrs or marring? Sorry to ask just don't want another 1K acrylic aerosol saga to arise.
The final finish is down to technique, materials and expertise. but yes 2k unlike 1k is stable enough to get a glass finish be it aerosol or gun finish. (black especially) hense my black midget.
yeah all good , if you can prep and polish to a good standard it will be a great job
only other option is a fully equipped spray shop and all the gear , but as far as rattle cans go theyre really good
what are you wanting to paint ? these are aimed at a bumper corner or similar , not a half respray
An aerosol will never build like gun as it's mostly thinner.
yeah a bonnet would be pushing it
despite what langy says i found them to be good build for what they are
i rarely wet sand as the americans sat but if i do ill ultimately wet flat with a quality 3000 paper with soap and a flexible sanding block. cut back with farecla 3 and 10 on a mop then carnuba wax. Langy,s got a vid somewhere re mopping
has the plastics paint cracked on the camaro? got a feeling it might be one of the few cars that need a flex additive , been a while sinse ive been near one but i recall theyre pretty spongey ?
farecla is a well trusted and long standing compound system with medium G3 and fine G10 compounds. Other systems are available and equally as good im sure but i stick to stuff i trust to work. compounding (mopping) can go very wrong very quickly without practice.
Nick.
idealy you need the code from the back of the plastic parts , then check with the paint maker whats reccomended
is it really spongey or similar to modern bumpers?
last time i bought some of that paint plasticiser Steve it was an arm and a leg i recall. Works well mind
