One for the woodworker/carpenters or any body that dabbles in wood. I was watching a TV program where they rebuild old houses in USA and they used a dowel that was not round but had rounded ends with flat sides. They then cut the holes they fitted into using a tool akin to a biscuit cutter but I am having trouble imagining what the cutting bit is like. On my biscuit cutter it is just a rotating blade that cuts the ramp like hole to fit the biscuit shape. If the dowels were round then a drill would suffice but what would cut this shape. And what are that type of dowel called.
