Hi guys, i'm new to welding. I recently bought a 2nd hand Uni Mig Procraft 180A. The wire feeder is feeding wires a bit jerky. What can i do to fix this problem?
Hi Steve, first things first, welcome to the forum .
Is the wire you're using old and rusty? If so, strip layers off until it comes good, if it doesn't become good then replace it with a new reel.
A new torch liner would also be worth fitting, get a steel one, not a plastic one. Fit a new swan-neck spring if it has one and a new contact tip and all should be good. If none of that works then you may have problems with the wire feed control circuit.
You should twist and pull it at the same time, it's secured by a spring, not actually threaded on. I can't remember off the top of my head which way to turn it but you'll soon find out.
Hi,
I've got a similar jerky feed on my cebora panther 160 that has been stood for over 2 years, can you tell me where to order a steel liner from for this machine, I live in Co Mayo, Ireland.
Many thanks
Dave
Welcome. Most likely your local welding supplier will have them. Otherwise we've got weldequip on this forum who can be reached by private mesage from Monday who should have them.
