Hi,
I originally posted here because I thought it was my welder at fault, but I am beginning to suspect that it might be me, hence my post here...
I bought my brand new Parweld 171 C. The wire fed through in bursts. There was no tension that I could find that would grip at all points on the tension wheel without stalling the wire feed.
I looked at the tensioner wheel (the grooved one) and it was clearly not true (circular). A replacement was sent, which is better, but I am still having problems. The motor still 'bogs down' at one point on the rotation of the wheel. Higher wire speeds are passable, but still odd to my mind.
I backed off the wire roll friction brake as much as I could, but no effect.
I am using a 15kg roll. The little blue guide tube that collects the wire from the spool and feeds it to the tension rollers is at quite an angle because the roll is new. Is this OK - or is there a way to adjust it?
Any pointers would be gratefully received.
Thanks, GDL.
