I came across a Lincoln LN-25 with new drive wheels and liner for $400 and bought it. This is way more machine than I need as I am a DIYer most all my welding is less than 3/16" and I don't have a power unit. I do have a Hobart Ironman 200 and also a Miller XL-225 Thunderbolt AC/DC for stick welding. I was originally thinking of selling the LN-25 for a profit but then I got thinking that keeping the LN-25 and selling the Hobart 200 would save me space in a tight shop. Can anyone tell me if the LN-25 will weld satisfactorily on light work using the Thunderbolt 225 as a power unit? Obviously some modification would need to be done to the Thunderbolt to use it to power the LN-25. The Thunderbolt maxes out at 150amps DC. I would be grateful for useful input before I start modifying a welder.
