so i have got to get some replacement components made at work and they have a bit of an odd type of soldering i havent seen before. They are all 1 off components and we had to chop the old ones in half to see how they had been made.
essentially it is a brass plug with grooves machined around it and solder is then inserted into the grooves. the plug fits inside a piece of pipe and heated up until the solder melts, kind of like those pre-soldered copper fittings you get in 15mm pipe.
any way does this have a name, is it common to anything else or is has someone just come up with this ? wanted to get a bit more info on sizes of groves required, types of solder etc before i go and start talking to companies and getting qoutes
