I have a 2005 e46 M3, a few years ago I removed the front wings and cleaned out any corrosion, then painted in epoxy and clearcoat.
Some rust is back, the arch liners is a V shape at the edge that fits into the V shape of the wings arch lips, it seems that the plastic combined with water, grit and salt has rubbed through the paint in places and has started to rust.
Looking for any suggestions for a solution, I am considering cleaning off the rust, reapply epoxy primer, then coat with either bed liner/stonechip/underseal and then a coat of epoxy or paint over the top to give a smooth finish to try and help stop grit getting stuck to it. I thought using a thick coating will give the liner something to wear away before it gets down to the metal again.
I realise this may end up being something that has to be checked/repaired every few years.
Thanks
