I have been doing some repairs to my 205 (replacing sill and various sections around the rear jacking point) and before letting myself loose on the car i've been practising butt welding together some of the zintec sheet i'm replacing the rotten sections with to get the correct welder settings.
however i've found that i'm really up at the high end of the wire speed settings on the machine so out of curiosity i had a look in the manual and as far as i can see its recommendations for wire speed setting regardless of power settings or wire thickness is that everythign is above No 5 on the dial.
So i guess my question is whats the point in it going from 0 -10 when in reality it would probably be better to just give finer control over the speed from 5-10.
Would it be possible to "re calibrate" to wire speed control i wonder?
thoughts??
