Buy a proper egg poacher and then you can enjoy the butter & runny egg . I dislike eggs dropped in vinegar'd boiling water to " Poach " them . My German friends call that "Verlorene Eier"....lost eggs.,,, they loved our English egg poacher and took one back to Germany with them.I'd only use a slice of bread to soak up the water from a poached egg, otherwise I see it as just a filler

Egg at room temp, pop in the boiling poacher where you have buttered the cups with a brush , poach with lid on for 2min 34 seconds for a just off snotty lovely runny egg
