The torches supplied with the latest R-Tech welders are a big improvement on earlier versions
Are they? That's good to hear what do they use now? Any pics. The torches supplied with the latest R-Tech welders are a big improvement on earlier versions
I've been told by some guys at parweld that both Parweld & Parker's torches are made in the same factory using the same injection mold's, the parweld pro grip torch looks and feels pretty much exactly the same as the Parker sure grip.Anyone used a Parker torch before. I've often thought they look pretty comfy and compact but never seen in the flesh.
Nice info Tom.I've been told by some guys at parweld that both Parweld & Parker's torches are made in the same factory using the same injection mold's, the parweld pro grip torch looks and feels pretty much exactly the same as the Parker sure grip.
There are merits to both torches as each of them change some aspect of the torch to differentiate between them.
Parweld changes the cabel to their "Hyper flex cable" whereas Parker have the Surelok dinse which is supposed to fit any size plug and the different button system.. Parweld also has the button system but not so easy to change as Parkers
They do look much better than the old blue ones. The handle looks more streamlined for a start.Torch bit starts at 4.00
not on my 260ext it's horrible and is one of the items I plan to change along with the foot pedal I did ask on here about the sw320 a while agoThe torches supplied with the latest R-Tech welders are a big improvement on earlier versions
Is yours not like the one in the video Reaper? That didn't look too bad at all for a supplied 26.not on my 260ext it's horrible and is one of the items I plan to change along with the foot pedal
No it's a big blue monster lol it does not help that I have very small hands so I find a big torch very hard to get on withIs yours not like the one in the video Reaper? That didn't look too bad at all for a supplied 26.
Stubby set up on the 17 really compacts that torch right down. They look good.I class my tig set as a non replaceable item.
My tig torches on the other hand are.
So I desided to consider what my real needs were.
Not one torch would have done said job.
I stated out with a cheat star parts wp20 water cooled torch.
Absolutely no complaints for a £55 torch @ at 12 odd foot long.
Soon found out the line of work I do didn't require a water cooled torch.
So I opted to a standard wp17 flex head @ 12 odd foot long and a wp17 with twist head at 25 foot long.
All three torches cover every aspect of what I do in my workshop.
The cost off all three tig torches was about the same as a top of the range jobbie
First 2 photos. Parkers 25 foot long super flex cable with there twist head. Wp17 air cooled.
Second photo a flex head wp17 with 13 foot super flex cable. Note my home made handle from a rubber hose.
Third photo the very cheap wp20 from star parts. Have no complaints for the money
For an Rtech it would probably be slightly cheaper than I paid as its standard dinse and cables so it's pretty much off the shelf. Mine was dear as there was time and parts gone into it to make it work with the mls gas through thread and live. Also Jim found some differences between the kemppi 7 pin and a standard which needed addressing. All in all great service and he's well worth contacting if you want one as he knows his stuff and can go though the possible options.I would be interested in the sw320 as I will be getting my water cooler this week from retch just need to no what sort of price I would be looking at and will it hook up to my machine or will it need to be modified
Hoses look good flexy overbraid on those pictures too.If I had a second tig set. That's probably what I would do.
My Lorch sits in one place in the far corner of my workshop.
Covered by a nice soft towel lol
My welding bench is there. Hence most of my work is done with the air cooled wp17.
When I need to reach a job at the other side of my workshop. The wp17 with 25 foot long cable comes into play.
It has the flex head (not flex neck ) as if I ain't welding on the bench. I am working on my classic car and the swivel head is handy.
I don't often need my wp20
