i think what hese getting at is the stuffing gland will not go far enough down to clamp the cable to hold and stop moisture getting in but there should be a cable clamp inside to hold it6mm² 3 core H07RNF cable will do it.
change the plug to one with a cable clamp inside they do make themThanks guys. There is not a clamp inside and that worrys me a bit. The other problem is it's only going to a 13 amp twin socket so if I got bigger cable it wouldn't fit the socket. I don't really know what people use to hook stuff up to a generator.
not if u use 4.0mm flex your only protecting the cable32a connector down to 13a socket needs some form of protection inline, surely?

Have you screwed the black bit as far as it'll go onto the plug? If it's anything like the mk? Ones it is slack then goes very fast to tight. I much prefer them to the cable clamp type as they're so much quicker to put together as they usually have click in wire terminals not screw ones.
