Ive been eyeing these up for some time, but i dont really know much about them, which makes me more reserved.
So far as i can tell, the larger they are, the more usefull, but the then they take up more room... which is always an issue.
Im thinking a used floor standing one. This ( https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-power-tools/surface-planer-and-thicknesser-/1268472787 ) looked like a great price (no longer available) but, at the same time, looked to be a larger machine than i could really justify.
..but i know i dont want a plastic screwfix unit.
I assume the blades are all pretty standard, so what are the Achilles heels, that turn a good looking item into expensive scrap?
