Hi all
I'm new to this forum but I wonder can anyone help . I work for a company and we're doing a referb on a star screen which has 19 chain driven shafts. They're driven using double simplex sprockets. The problem is that the design of the new frame has meant that the sprockets are pushed further towards the end of the shaft to point were less than half of the sprocket is on the shaft but there is 20mm behind the sprocket. Is it possible to weld a thick spacer to the back of the sprocket to increase the surface contact between the shaft and sprocket. Sorry for the long post but can anyone help
