Hi Guys
Its been a while since Ive had time to be on here, but needs must and I have a question I hope you can help me with.
To start at the begining a couple of years ago the flexi sections on my isuzu pickup exhaust leaked and i was quoted near £300 by the local dealer for the bit of pipe with the flexis in (about 4ft long total), said f u and sourced a couple of flexis (stainless) i think and proceeded to fit them in place with ordinary steel wire and co2, up to now the welds have held and the flexis are still ok.
Now the rest of the system needs doing and going on past experience i am not even going to get a quote for it, I intend buying parts (box, bends, straight etc) from milner offroad, needless to say for a fraction of the price.
Only possible problem is all milners parts are stainless, do you think i can get it all welded with plain steel wire and co2 or will i have to go argon and stainless wire. I know i wont get corrosion resistance from steel wire and co2 but not too bothered about that, its more on the strength of the weld i am asking about.
just need to get some feedback before i invest in all the parts.
Cheers Paul
