Hello chaps,
Now I know there are millions of these threads, but here goes another one.
I'm after a gas welder, price up to £300 say, that has the capability to weld both thin rusty car bodywork, and quite thick Land Rover Defender box section chassis. I want a decent quality welder with good wire feed that will run off a standard 13 Amp socket, and ideally I'd like to have variable power settings via rotary knob, as opposed to the 1, 2, min, max system most seem to have, which usually equates to no weld, pathetic spark, big hole, car on fire.
I would happily consider second hand, I've used Sealey Supermig 170 at length and would like one of those, but they rarely come up second hand. Also, I'm not sure I would use this regularly enough to justify a full-on BOC-style gas bottle contract, so would disposables offer a reasonable alternative? I'm aware they are very expensive if using fairly regualrly.
