Hi folks,
I have a Jabsco water pump on a perkins 4108 marine engine that has a groove worn in it where one of the seals sits. They are expensive to replace so I'm considering wekding it. This area only needs to be good enough to make a water tight seal so I am hoping I can make a decent bodge to buy me some time before having to replace the shaft.
What wire or rods shoukd I be using and can I get away with anything less than what is required in an ideal world?
I dont know what steel is used fir the shaft but may be able to find out.
Cheers,
Olly
