This weekend I intend to try and fix a long standing issue with my garage door.
It is an automated, insulated sectional garage door. Each time I go to open it, it raises about 8 inches then bangs to a halt. Pressing the button again gets it to start opening again and it's fine after that.
I have tried various things to lubricate the wheels and tracks which does seem to help but only for a short period. That is silicone or oil sprays doused in. Or spray grease.
What is the best thing to use please and is the shudden stop a sign of something else wrong? I'll get a photo of the door shortly
