Ive got a rusty old filing cabinet here.
Rather than just slapping on some hammerite, i thought id try and do something a bit more pretentious!
Im unsure as to flatting it back with the DA sander and then waxing it, or maybe dumping the whole thing in the electrolysis tank with either NaOh (which will strip the paint) or somthing gentler, which will retain it.

£500!
Anyway, ive got no real end goal in mind, i just thought id see what happens.
When its finished, do you think the "vintage upcycler sorts" wax the metal? I cant see them putting on some sort of clear coat?
This is the unit i have -
