there is no ballast resistor fitted
does it need one? I was under the impresion there more for a points system, where the forklift still has a distributor there's a hall effect sensor triggering the coil
A ballast resistor / coil system is to compensate for the cranking Voltage dropping to 9V. It allows for a full spark to be delivered because it shorts out the ballast resistor during cranking. An electronic ignition system gets fed from north of the resistor so either that or points are irrelevant.
