give you an idea its only 22.00 for 10 firebricks at size 4.5" x9 " by 1" thick
as goes for top plate make it in the best way that you can i was thinking cast a brick or buy a firebrick to the size im needing for my build
id advise perlite less water held within it compared to vermiculite stockist any garden centre should stock it
im building mine the same way as above but im only using an 1" thick for all the sides
theres 2 ways for you either a blast furnace type straight up or you vortex it around there is another way but thats untested for the moment
if i was building an oil burner id consider the vortex type means less flame height but should be cleaner burning
