I have just aquired a little lathe with a Danfoss VLT 2803, already wired up to a 13A three pin plug.
I'm a complete novice to VFD, so just plugged it in to try it out.
CLICK - RCD tripped out.
This is all in the garage - which is supplied by Wylex 63A AC RCD, through SWA to a distribution board. This in turn has a MK 63A AC RCD, and smaller MCB's.
So off I go to read the manual for the VFD. If I've read it corretcly, I need to add 10mm2 earth cable, and replace BOTH 63A RCD's with Type B. That looks expensive (A single phase motor may be a cheaper option)
So, befoe I launch down a path that's going to cost more tan the inital purchase price - can anyone check my logic, and/or provide a cheap source of Wylex and MK Type B RCD's ?
