Hi,
I picked up a little old willow (never hear of the brand, but old cast frame) vertical bandsaw a month or so ago without a motor and after building a stand and hacking together a motor mount a need some blades. I have a little parkside horizontal / hand held band saw for cutting stock so this is more for odd shapes cutting out sheet, notching stuff.
Saw has wheels of about 9 1/4" diameter including the tyre. I'd be aiming to cut aluminum and steel sheet (1 - 1.5mm ish or so), corners off angle, bit off box etc (probably ~2-3 mm or so thickness, mild steel), odd bit of nylon or similar. I would also like to use it on some wood but would have separate blades for that.
Does anyone have some good advice on tpi, any other stuff I should know? What about blade depth / thickness? I know there is a general 3 teeth in contact with thickness of material but I'd like to obviously push things a bit being a tight ****. Thanks
