Hi, Thanks guys, I'm vaguely reassured. I've got the wrong end of the stick again. Although I think there are going to be strokes pulled somewhere along the line.

I will have to find it out but it was stipulated any works undertaken had to be certificated even for a single plug socket to be fitted onto your own property not to a council owned property

I was a bit annoyed about it when i read about it sort of how i remembered it

my honest opinion with council sort your own in house problems before sticking your nose in other peoples business

Wasn't that why they rolled out part P the P standing for Pretend electrician.

Seen all sorts of bodged wiring over the years. If it helps stop it it's no bad thing.
I just keep a tame sparky to hand these days and bill the customer accordingly

Hi, As I understood it, if you are doing it for a customer and charging then you need to be certified, but if the householder does it himself he doesn't. So that should solve all the problems.
