Hi there new chums. I've done a fair bit of welding and cutting/burning with various equipment over the decades, but never been able to justify the cost(s) of a MIG machine - until now. I don't have a lot of cash to spend on the basic machine because I intend to invest in 'proper' bottles of gas & gauges along with good solid safety equipment (gloves, auto helmet, leather apron, etc, etc.).
I've recently been tempted by this one

The name is not one I've seen around much, but extensive perusal of t'interweb indicates that the same model may be available with a range of names on the side. As the power can be wound down seriously low I think it could be well useful on thin car body panels. I've got a couple of cars that could do with this kind of work and the last time I had it done professionally it cost over £100 just for a tiny patch on one outer sill. If I wasn't so ham-fisted I might have had a go with my stick welder since I've managed to weld some very thin metal with it, but the cosmetics were not as neat as I might have hoped for and that's definitely not what I want gracing the flanks of my pride & joys!
So what do you think? Reasonable price/quality for an occasional use hobby MIG or a pig in a poke?
Ta very glad in advance, Jan.
