Hi all,
I'm currently doing an underfloor restoration on a 1998 Integra DC2 and I've been debating which way to go with the products I apply to it after I've finished a few weld repairs. The whole underfloor is going back to bare metal so we're starting from a good base, although first up I'm probably going to use a coat of Dinitrol RC900 just to neutralise any pitted corrosion which remains after it's all been taken back to bare metal. Ultimately I'd like to end up with a finish which is OEM looking but then coat it with the cars body colour (NH-O Championship white)
So I've started looking at what to coat over the RC900, and I spoke with my local tame car restoration place and they recommended:
Dinitrol RC900
Lechler 04318 primer
Lechler Green-Ti Filler Primer
3M 08800 sprayable sealer
Direct gloss 2k championship white
I've also been discussing this with a few fellow Integra owners and the following has also been recommended:
Dinitrol RC900 (or a.n.other corrosion converter type product)
Isopon Zinc 182 primer
Dinitrol 447
Direct gloss 2k championship white
Alongside all of this, I've also seen plenty of threads on here using Jotamastic 90 with good success, therefore had put together the following list:
Dinitrol RC900 (or a.n.other corrosion converter type product)
Jotamastic 90
Direct gloss 2k championship white
I've had some poor results with similar projects using epoxy mastic (Bilt Hamber in that instance) therefore I'm a bit unsure on this option.
What is the collective opinion/wisdom on the three options above, and are there any reasons to go for one over any other?
Additionally, I'm probably going to do the wheel arches in black with some sort of stonechip product. What would be peoples recommendations here, which can go over the 08800, 447 or Jota 90? I presume if I use the 447 I can just do that in the arches aswell and just not overcoat it with championship white?
I only want to do this once so looking for a solution which lasts.
Thanks in advance.
