Can someone give me a dummy's explanation to this control please? I understand that it controls the percentage time on +ve and -ve which controls cleaning. But what are you 'aiming' for? To have as much 'cleaning' as possible without the tungsten melting?
Might sound daft, but is it acceptable for the end of the tungsten to 'ball up', or should it keep its shape? I often find the end balls up, but remains intact and a nice clean blue colour.
Mostly welding Alu 3mm tube to 10mm flanges on manifolds, using approx 80% current on a 200A machine (pedal controlled). Tungsten is 2.4mm (iirc).
