I have an eight year old Sealey 150/5 which has performed flawlessly since new until last week.
Initially upon pressing the trigger the fuse in the plug would blow.
I traced that to two of the diodes on the rectifier plates had shorted.
Contacted Sealey and pleasantly surprised - replacement rectifier, complete, £21!
A simple swap over.
However, this hasnt solved the problem.
What happens now is as the trigger is pressed, the relay on the PCB closes and thats it. No wire feed motor, no weld.
If I touch the torch tip against the earth clamp - flash! So the current is there.
When the trigger is released, the relay does not release - the machine must be switched off for this.
Have measured voltages in and out of the PCB - seem ok. Have measured voltages in and out of the transformer and rectifier - ok.
Have put a separate feed using a voltage generator onto the wire feed motor and its fine.
A local power tool repair shop havent found anything wrong with it, yet it doesnt work.
Any ideas, chaps?
