Dragged out of it's hiding place in a draughty cold temporary garage where it has been languishing for too many years suffering from my neglect. I was quite shocked at the condition once dragged out yesterday, today I feel a little better about it having had a closer look and evaluation of the condition although there was one added disappointment, the fuel tank is dry and now a little rusty internally.
Covered in filth, rust and spider poo. Chain is a little rusty on the side plates and one or two rollers. Corrosion starting on the rear rim. Gearchange clevis is red raw with rust, zinc plating has gone completely.
More rust on the footrest bracket where the zinc and passivate has gone. Alloy starting to pit and those badge drive screws are red raw, don't think they were plated from the factory!
Aftermarket rear disc quite bad on the swept area, caliper starting to pit.
Again, rusty swept areas but the forks have wept oil over the years and seem to have kept the sliders and calipers from pitting the alloy.
Forks had light pitting before it went away and I have a spare set re-chromed to fit.
A little corrosion on the caliper this side.
Gained an extra gearlever from somewhere.
Chrome is a little scruffy but should clean up with a bit of luck.
Must have been doing a trial fit of my LSL handlebar conversion before putting it away!
Bit of panel damage and a broken indicator where something has fallen on the bike, they were pretty poor quality indicators anyway.
