Very nice, I made something similar in my last year at school, to go towards getting an 'O' level in woodwork, wish mine had turned out as good. LolI'm sure most people are familiar with the "Studley" tool cabinet?
This just popped up on my FB feed:

On a closer look, it passes inspection. You have done a fine job replicating it. Well done.Mine (and homer Simpsons), for comparison.

Tools are packed much more densely in the Studley, 218 tools in it according to Wikipedia, I count less than 100 in BigEgg's post, which looks bigger than the Studley too.Prefer the original. It looks made for the task.
Notice he didn't build in a space for his wooden jointer plane. I was always taught to lay them on their side too...That sort of toolbox would never be any good for me. I'm always getting tempted by more tools and I'd have to redesign the whole cabinet to have somewhere to put them!

Standard. An hour to do the job and an hour to put your tools back Thats got to be the pinnacle of form over function
First job of the day.Tools are packed much more densely in the Studley, 218 tools in it according to Wikipedia, I count less than 100 in BigEgg's post, which looks bigger than the Studley too.
I wouldn't like to actually use either of them, in the Studley you've got to hinge all four of your marking gauges up out the way to get to the drill bits for example, the other one gets around the problem by not including any drill bits.

One advantage I can see is missing tools are obvious compared to a few tote boxes
Not so easy in a van with tools being taken into houses for every day unfortunately. That's why a lot of my tools are on "shadow boards" - basically nails in plywood on the wall with pencil lines drawn round the tools. It's fairly easy to move stuff around when I get more tools or change my mind about what goes where. This photo is already a bit out-of-date!

Top one looks made to show off the tools. Much like the tools themselves. For show.
Aye. I'm looking at it from a carpenters viewpoint rather than a joinerEasier to access tools without removing others on the first one though. Fixed vs transportable cabinets, by the looks of it.
I have a very old carpenter's toolbox, not one I ever worked out of, but one which I store most of my best wood working tools in.
