This was saved from a skip a while back just needed a clean and putting back together, It works well still i use it to weigh myself ....

Those two green pipe things look like the basis for a pair of canons to me.

I've always wanted a mini canon.

That sliding bevel looks identical to the one I have, I made it at school close on 50 years ago, I've used it all my working life, its especially useful when setting bend angles on the press or folder.

Funny you say that. Looked like it was made by the original owner. Has his initials scored in it.
Well made mind all my bevels are from my carpentry tool box. Picked this up as its small and more suited to metalwork.

A lathe has come up. Mate's family is selling it, elderly relative etc.

Anyway they want rid and it is too cheap to turn down. Not seen it yet other than a bad phone picture but it looks well looked after and I think it has probably had a gentle time of things. Getting it Friday. Hope I haven't jinxed this. Thought it was a Southbend model 9A at first but now I'm fairly sure it is a Southbend Light 10K with a short bed. Possibly the worst way to buy a lathe I know, but it is exciting.

Those green things are the bottom part of hand pumps, Went into my local machine mart and they were in the bargain area for £4 each + vat...I just had to buy them .

Called into Lidl's this morning & looked at the centre isle tools, as you do (can't pass a tool stall) bought an air saw at £14.99 & a 4 way manifold at £3.99. The air saw is useless, stalls at the slightest load & is going back! ...... But the manifold, success, stripped one of the quick release couplers off, they are standard 1/4" BSP, & look reasonable quality as well. So for £3.99 I have 4 XF quick release couplers, 1 male end piece & a scrap manifold that I don't need anyway. I'm happy with that.

Air saw I found ok oddly enough...then again I had it running straight off the tank through 3/8 hose, fine for trimming bits of sticking doors, thinnish metal (its technically a panel saw for cutting bodywork iirc....)

Just tried it again, cut some thin sheet, but it jams & stalls, I think the blades haven't got enough set on, with some decent blades it would probably be better. Might try cutting oil on the blade before I give up & take it back.

Just tried it with a broken off end of a 24tpi hacksaw blade, just ground off the set where it clamps in. The blade was too course, but it worked better. I will probably keep it, at that price, if it gets used once to get me out of a hole, it's paid for itself.

I got the two way with the in line pressure regulator and it seems ok.

I've a similar pair but they're round nosed.

Mrs TYA insisted I went shopping with her today. Apparently "We" have to pick a suitable present for the Mother In Law.
I found out that a grave plot is not classed as a suitable idea, don't know why.

Put I did get to sneak into a Second hand shop. The owner is nice, she has good coffee and a smile.
I had a rummage, not much. But I did manage to temporally loose Mrs TYA. Ooops, my bad.




Another Jacob 13m drill chuck, Eclipse Saw, old key hole saw, new 2nd cut file, Nail pliers, old Ex GPO combination pliers and London Pattern Cabinet screwdriver.



3 as new wooden saw handle blades, still sticky with either wax or an oil. Chuck left for size.
Please ignore the 2 broken saws in top left, they are junk.


GWR railway bolt, yes another one. Don't ask, no idea yet. Apart from it was in the box.

Look for an MOD mark on them. They were once issued to Seamen to allow them to wire lock safety rails on a ship. Plus undo Shackle pins on D and bow shackles.

The hole in them was originally designed to fit a "Marlin Spike" as well.

Went to an auction with plans of not spending very much, I almost managed it but got tempted by a Moore and Wright machinists tool chest, the good thing was that it was full of milling cutters and also a Starret 0-1 and a couple of Etalon mic's plus a bunch of other bits and pieces in it as well. I also bagged some soldering irons,3 electric (1 monster and 2 smaller) plus 2 old style ones that need a flame, plus flux and solder. Got another box full of bits as well but nothing too exciting.
