Is 3mm thick wall on 21.3mm mild round tube enough thickness to tap threads for M6 grub screws? It's only for a curtain rail job, the purpose of the grub screws will be to stop the finials that socket into the end from rotating out of alignment. I don't have a lathe so can't machine the tenons down to a push-tight fit.
I don't want to go down the road of using 20mm x 2mm mild round tube and welding nuts into the ends again and threading the tenons, that was a faff.
Cheers in advance.
