Not exactly gonna help with welding but for all those other dirty jobs whether grease, paint, resins, adhesives, cements, plaster or whatever even solvents apparently, I highly recommend a sort of barrier cream I was recently introduced to. I say 'sort of' because it's actually described as an Industrial skin protectant which replaces barrier creams. Dermashield is a non greasy mousse that lasts for 4-5 hours and amazingly doesn't wash off even with soap. Check out the details here. I used it last week at a clients studio, got super-glue all over my hand (yes I'm a mucky bu88er) and it just peeled off. I was gob-smacked. I was so impressed I bought the company...ahem, well I bought 2 cases of the stuff as everyone I've told about it wants some so I'll probably end up selling half of it. It also stops bad smells staying on your skin which is just peachy for me considering the nasty stinks I end up getting on my hands/arms when gloves sneakily tear. Meant to be safe enough for any part of your body (the mind boggles) and good for helping with contact dermatitis. Any contaminants will wash off with mild soap and water which saves on hand cleaner and it contains pharmaceutical grade moisturisers (or something like that) so your hands don't get all dry and cracky
The best part is (are you listening weldequip?!) - it's UK made, Wales in fact, which is nice!
Anyone wanting to buy on-line go here as the links on the main site don't seem to work.
Honestly I'm not on a back-hander! I just think it's the best thing I've come across in ages and I wanted to share
