Hi, Hope someone can help or just confirm I'm on the right track.
I have a Sealy Supermig 185 (From new), used for car body repairs but not used for several years in earnest. Have just started to use it again and the wire feeds ok for a while then it makes a wizzy sound, and no wire comes out then off it goes again (So intermittent wire feed would be a shorter statement).
Welds look rubbish. (Well worse than my usual rubbish)
I recon I've only ever put 15kg of wire thru it scince new. (It has a 5kg coil on at the moment)
My thoughts are.
1. Fit new liner (On order)
2. Try new wire (Could be rusty but dosent look it)
3. Fit new feed motor, cogs could be stripped, Can you still get them?
4. Chuck it away and get a new machine.
Any thoughts, much appreciated.
