I spent time at ‘nam rebuilding clearing and bliss presses then sorting door line and a bit of wheel plant pleasure .
Always avoided direct work with fords as they were terrible payers
I worked on the BE13 (Sierra) line, putting the spot welding robots in and later on the Fiesta line where we had robots welding the door hinges.
As for paying, there was one job at Halewood that ABB didn't want so doubled the quote, Ford just said "OK, come and do it" I ended up there for a couple of weekends upgrading control cabinets.
