been talking about it for a while it was wet and windy ad raining the last feew days so the roof aint coming off the garage and workshop!
so started this instead pics to follow.
cut up the old RSJ from the house must be 50 years old! it aint flat it aint square it is rusty as fook after a removing some of the paint! it dont look like a modern RSJ
anyway as I am tight I got to work on the top edge with the 9" to try an make it flat. I was torn between welding @Pete. 20mm elevator counter balance weights to the top of the RSJ but 2 things stopped me!
1. was it took me 10 minutes to cut the end off with the 9"
2. it will weight a fook ton in 20mm steel
now with the top ground kinda flat I made the sliding mechanisim that will push the logs through the blade.
I now need to make the blades not sure wether to die of boredom and use the 20mm or order some 10mm unless someone local has some 10mm they wanna swap for some 20mm?
