what’s the best way to determine, pitch and chain type on an unmarked sprocket?
Cheers, yeah that’s the closest, trouble is the roller dia. On my sprocket (1900 Steam car engine) I can only get a .400 roller in the radius.
I might have to open up the radius in each tooth.
I really don’t want to change the sprocket on something so old
Was there a standard set of sizes by then?
Just checked my Renolds book, and ANSI type 50 is 15.875 pitch x 9.4 plate width x 10.16 roller diameter. (Why do they quote imperial chain in millimeters?) Converting back, that is 5/8" x 3/8" x .4" are you sure the pitch is 3/4"?
