Hello all,
I've just bought a non working spot welder on E-Bay.
It seems the problem is only the timer and powered up directly it works. I can manage without a timer for the small jobs I want to do but it ages since I did anything with them (College about 40 years ago)
It's main use will be 1mm + 1mm steel sheet, how should the tip be dressed for that, I'm guessing about a 4 to 5 mm flat and 45 degree chamfer? How do I judge where the tips are clamped to the arm with refrence to clamping pressure, or does the spring in the mechanism take care of that?
It's a Britwelder (Italian), the name plate is partly damaged so I don't know the input current but secondary (welding) current is 7,000A.
Thanks in anticipation,
Alec
