Hi
sorry about the spelling its something I really do struggle with as you can tell but in the future I will try to type it up on word to help everyone before I post it
Brett
There are free spell checkers for internet explorer and firefox which work pretty well, they're not perfect but they're adequate. Here's an internet explorer one and here's a firefox one for anyone in need of help .
Hi Brett,
I’ve been dyslexic for 60yr (just starting to get the hang of it ) with a certificate to prove it, so I know how you can struggle.
I use Word to compose almost everything & a lot of cut & paste but my spelling can often defeat the spellchecker. Fortunately I have a good command of English & am well read so can substitute words, if all else fails I call Mrs jugs to help.
Early on I stopped being embarrassed by it & just got on with life, don’t let it hold you back, you’ll learn strategies to cope. Many of our greatest thinker’s engineers & business men have been dyslexic.
Ps 110 words, 81 misspells, 26mins to produce (such a waste of time)

My spelling is terrible, possibly dyslexic, TBH I don't care and I have never believed its held me back in anyway, before spell cheeks I used a dictionary, simple..... On here, I wouldn't, myself included, expect perfect grammar or no abbreviations, Its not formal...... Its not being arsey to expect a post to just be readable, the other more serious point is I get a few letters a year requesting work on the "off chance" now I applicate this much more, like most, rather than a phone call, however the first thing I notice is poor spelling and grammer.... Its just plain lazy, to spend another 30 minutes proof reading it, then getting someone else to would have made all the diffrence.....Im sure most feel the same, It presents a terrible image......
Anyway Chap, good on you standing up and being counted, language does become easier the more you use it, like maths........plug away and never let it be an excuse not to do something

Using a dictionary is NOT simple for us “professional” dyslexic's they put the words on the wrong pages.
If you cant see the word you dont know where to go & look, eg. exit should be at the back. & which is it … eth, eht, het, hte or...

Just think of all the permutations in- permutations.
I do agree with your other sentiments.
I know it might sound picky to some, but we are using written language here on the internet - in the pub you probably wouldn't spend much time talking to someone who hadn't bothered to learn how to talk properly, would you?
