I will have a go and report back, , cheersLooking at pictures of that carb (which are for sale on ebay), the mixture adjustment screw is clearly visible, right down on the flange that goes on to the intake manifold. Solving your problem could be as easy as turning that screw in a little, but then, carburettors don't often seem to yield easy solutions.
I would;
a) very gently, turn the screw clockwise, counting the turns in 1/4's until it contacts the seat (this tells you how many turns it is presently open).
b) Remove the screw completely (anticlockwise) and check it's clean and in good condition
c) Replace it in the carb, but close it down an extra 1/2 turn from the present setting.
Then see how that goes.
