I recently bought an old Snap On MIG 130 Turbo for just £60, all it needed a new trigger and torch handle to be usable. I also got a new shroud, as the one on the torch was pretty beat up, and slid off quite easily.
I bought all the parts from WECS, including this shroud - http://www.wecs-ltd.co.uk/index.php...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26
But when I tried to fit it, it felt really tight and ended up getting stuck. I had to use a hammer and grips to remove the shroud in the end, ruining it in the process. Thankfully the torch escaped unscathed.
Has anyone else experienced this with this welder or the BOC / Cebora equivalent? I'm new to welding, but the original shroud seemed to be just a push-fit, is that correct? Or did I some how fit it wrong?
Assuming I didn't do something wrong, I feel like the issue must be with the shroud I bought, as the original one was quite loose. Can anyone recommend any other suppliers? I see Weldequip and Arc-Rite both sell the shrouds, but I don't want to end up getting it stuck again.
