Hi guys
I don't intend this info to undermine or criticise anything other members have posted regarding mods to this machine as they are all excellent and work brilliantly.
In fact I have read them all and taken all advice given to carry out the following mod on my migmate 150.
The main issue with fitting an additional power supply for the wire feed seems to be where to fit the tranny, I may have found a solution which doesn't involve chopping the casing, see what you think.
This is about the only free space inside the machine, so I think a couple of brackets are in order.
Now to fit the transformer.
Now just wire up the feed wires and the rectifier and should be ready to go.
It works and this is the result, the tall narrow beads are on medium power with the wire speed to high, the shallow wide beads are at full power which I could never use before as the wire would burn back in to the tip.
Euro torch to fit next when it arrives as I keep breaking the power wire where it clamps onto the brass bit that the wire feeds through, so need more support where the cable/hose comes out of the welder.
Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to the excellent mods.
Cheers
paul..
ps. sorry about the extra set of pics below, still havn't got this posting pics thing sussed
