Relating to my thread about Gazebos and Pergolas, I am also looking for a new shed for storage, not a workshop.
8ft wide, (10 at a push) by 10-11-12ft deep.
Metal, Plastic/Resin or Wood?
Will be mounted on already existing slabs.
I know wood are the most widely available and has the best chance for making really secure, but when it’s mounted, I’ll only have access to the front and one of the sides (as it’s in a corner), which kind of puts me off wood because of limited access the the other sides for maintainance and roof re-felting.
Again, it seems that price is everything. Have seen some metal sheds online for as low as £600-800 but with terrible reviews about putting them up and being a bit flimsy. There is a good mid range Australian manufacturer called Absco which have good reviews but no one has any UK stock until July for the size I’d want. I’ve seen some premium metal sheds but they are over £3k. Also the metal ones seem to come with a base but not a floor.
I’ve already got a smaller Ketter plastic shed that’s lasted a good 12 years or so, with zero maintainance but the prices have gone through the roof. Cheapest I found for one with good reviews is about £1400 for a 7 x 12 from a company called Lifetime.
Any experience? What do you guys use?
