For 60 KG you will need a pallet service, as it is over HSE lifting limits.
Some carriers turn a blind eye, but 60 KG is more than can be shifted easily.
I would never use Sh*tty Link for anything, try APC, or your local Pallet Network agent, they tend to be pretty cheap and reliable as they tend to be how old family firms stay in business.
Supposedly, but I use them most of the time for sending to private addresses. Not the cheapest but very, very reliable and (touch wood ) no damages or losses yet.

We have used lots of them and there'll all much of a muchness. They just treat each parcel or pallet as a hinderance, they don't care if it contains a China tea set or a house brick. It all gets thrown about.
The worst we had was a £8,000 500 Amp AC/DC tig set, that we sent up too Aberdeen, we paid extra for a 2 day service as we were doing a exhibtion up there and needed it there by a certain time. After it didn't turn up with the rest of the delivery, we began to get a bit worried, after a few frantic phone calls, they said that the pallet was "lost in transit". It turned up after 5 days, covered in mud and looking like it had had a bomb dropped on it. Although the machine still worked, it was a right off as all the panels and chassis etc was scratched/bent/twisted.
To add insult to the whole thing, they only insured things by weight, not by value, so we could only claim £600. Which they still havn't paid. Useless.
Think its probably best if I don't.........you know how stupid all of this liabel stuff can get.
Its difficult to know exactly who to blame anyway, because the orginal forwarders based in the midlands, wern't the ones who dropped the pallet off in Aberdeen. It turns out it had been passed between atleast 2 other companys on the way up. Like a relay race......except they was very slow and kept dropping the baton. Literally!
All the drivers/warehouse staff should have their wages docked for any damages... they might start treating other people's property with a little respect then.

Talking of strokers who don't give a feck about other peoples property, have you ever seen the people who unload your cases off the plane. They don't even throw them descreetly, they do it in front of a plane full of people who's property it belongs too!
If there unhappy in there job and do it through boardom, they should of listened harder at school!!
Yeah.......they turn a normal 2 lane road into a six lane one including the pavements........no insurance........don't give a feck if they hit someone or something! I don't think that my suitcase will be top of their list of priorities.
I am starting to think what have I let myself in for....I leave heathrow at 10.15 tommorrow morning, which means I gonna have to leave my house at just after 5am. I land in Kolkata at 1.15am their time. Apparantly hardly any of the drivers speak english, because if they could speak english, they wouldn't be driving for a living.
Been through exactly the same thing Matt with same company, very nearly cleaned us out as a small business, valued loss was irreplaceable but new ones could be made costing more than £18k. Sure we got around £3k after many months and still have to pay the rest and replace some how.
They get their solicitors to fight every inch of the way when proven wrong, then its a damage limitation exercise.
The drivers and front line staff are great at our local hub Matt. Upper managements failure to communicate to lower levels, they were taking extra insurance for years. In the event of a claim said they do not insure that item even though it is stated what it is when arranged at local hub! National call centre aint got a clue, dont know ar..e from elbow.
To limit liability we no longer send stuff out, the onus is on the customer to arrange collection and is therefore subject to any losses.
No, they'd be pretending they've got an English name and ringing me up every **** tea-time trying to sell me something! :full
Hope the trip goes well Matt
