completely off topic, but at the industrial museum I volunteer at, one of the most liked exhibits is a foregrove 22b sweet wrapping machine, which demostates how sweets are wrapped like the penny toffee's in quality street. The machine at the museum has clear guards on it and our machine was made in 1933, the machine was first produced in 1931 and was a development of machines that were designed and built for John Mackintosh (his son was the guy who introduced quality street when he took over the company) anyway this machine was basically in prduction for over 40 years (into the 1970's), with 6000 being made and is still used by small volume sweet manufacturers around the world. It good to see the expressions on kids faces when they try and work out how the machine does it thing, and our machine has been slowed down so its easy to watch. these machines were built to last and are bulletproof, you have to wonder how long todays modern machinery with electronics and gadgets will compare over time. the video below shows one machine in australia still being used to earn a keep and he explains how it works
Telly has deliberately been dumbed down, to the point of being a complete waste of time now. Its just a way to spread pc ideas to innocent kids, even Dr.Who has become preachy.
