New old boy here.
Going to look at the above welder tomorrow. I am a little concerned that the same 6 step rotary switch appears on this machine (30 - 175amps) as on the lower power (Smaller range) machines.
Will this make the jumps between power settings so course that I will struggle to hit a sweet spot? I suspect there is no clever link between the wire speed & ampage.
I mainly weld my old Disco 1 body (1.2 - 1.5mm) & maybe, if I am unlucky, its chassis (2 - 2.5mm).
Would the 180 be a better suited machine or is the 230 the same but "50" better?
