Hi
I have just fired up the Supermig we had in the garage after lying dormant for about 5 years. The bottle needed replacing but my local hire shop only does CO2 now so they swapped out the old empty for a new bottle £20 well spent. However it is a lot more fierce than the old argon mix and blew the tube off! Gave me a fright! LOL! But this old scuffed regulator simply is not up to the job. So I think it needs a proper regulator. This looks perfect https://www.weldequip.com/co2-conversion-kit.htm as the tube also needs replacing see the clear beer style tube (below) I have atm! I did contact weldequip but they never got back to me the main issue is the other end that connects to the welder the existing one leaks like anything! Tried the jubilee clip and electrical tape still leaks then is it is too secure the tube blows off the other end at the regulator. Does anyone have any advice It appears to bolt on mine but the one for sale looks like push fit or something. As the only thing stopping me using this for projects is this darn gas feed and I want it to be SAFE! I did try it with turning the CO2 on like a tiny bit but this is not enough to shield the weld and too much just inflates the pipe and the tube fires off! :\
Please help!
