I'm thinking of getting a sandblaster to add to my ever expanding stable of tools.
This is about the size of cabinet I think I'll need. Clicky
I have one of those small compressors that I got with my nail gun. They recommend 90 psi to operate a blasting gun. Mine is rated to 120 psi but only has a 6 lt tank. Shouldn't make much difference if it's running all the time should it?
Will my compressor be up to the job or will I need to get a bigger one to get anywhere?
The sort of things I'm thinking of doing will be smallish metal items taken off antique furniture. I'd like to be able to blast brass castings so when gold plated they give the appearance of ormoulu. This used to be done by mercury gilding, but is not allowed now because of the poisonous fumes. I'm hoping to be able to replicate it as there is a big demand.
Thanks.
