Hi all,
The lathe is suffering in these conditions with surface rust on the ways. I cannot do anything to improve the workshop, it's well vented but completely uninsulated, until I get round to building a new one I need an inhibitor.
Wiping them down with an oily rag or trying to keep them covered in way oil seems to have limited success. I keep the machine covered with an old oily tablecloth too.
Have read good things about products like lps2 but they are expensive at around £10 for 400ml. Scooting a bit of plusgas around seems reasonable but again will get expensive quickly.
I have also read about ATF fluid, perhaps some sort of diluted mix I can use in a spray bottle? something I dont have to clean off before every use would be nice.
Any ideas, what do others with less than desirable conditions use?
