(edit - title should be roofing job. Auto correct trying to sort out my dodgy finger work.) Mod Edit, Title fixed.
Thought I’d better sort my roof out before I get too old and decrepit, and before the condensation problem due to the crappy 1980’s polythene roofing ‘felt’ actually rots out the trusses. Stripped off the old Marley concrete tiles (all 6.8 tonnes of them) and now in the process of putting on a much nicer and lighter fake slate roof - Tapco slates if anyone is interested. A bit pricey but so much better than the normal artificial slates and look very convincing. Also much lighter - I can hump a bundle of 25 up the scaffold no problem. The concrete tiles were 5.3kg each and the surface coating had completely worn off.
After lunch time the trees start to shade the roof and take the heat off a bit, bit in the mornings it has been absolutely boiling hot. I normally don’t dare to put my skinny white legs on show, but anything other than shorts is impossible in this weather so I’ve actually got a set of brown legs this year.
